One of the most visited and important attractions in the Scottish highlands, Eilean Donan is recognized all around the world and has become one of the most iconic images of Scotland.

I took this photograph on a trip to Scotland with my husband. We drove through the Scottish Highlands and discovered the castle on an island at the point where three great sea lochs meet.

Surrounded by the majestic beauty of the Highlands, it felt as if we had been transported back in time.

New Zealand is one of my favorite places on the planet. I took this photo in September of 2004 while hiking the Queen Charlotte Track of the Marlborough Sounds on the South Island.
